mangia: Central Park Picnic Stop

E.A.T. Sandwiches to go, cold dishes, a selection of cheeses and a vast selection of Bread; from baguette to sour dough...etc., you can pick up anything for a quick drink to go. I've returned numerous times getting some fresh foods for either an impromptu picnic or for my favorite Opera & Philharmonics at the Park. There is an art for having a great time enjoying a picnic en plein air. Good weather, great company, and of course delicious food.

E.A.T. will help out with that, you'll have to supply the rest!

bevi & mangia: European Bar.Paninoteca.Pasticceria.Gelateria

Sandwiches like Fresh Mozzarella with Tomato, Delicious pastries, and a gelato showcased in a beautiful display makes the front section so European. I had stopped by for a quick bite, and loved that I was back in a typical Italian or French bar. Inside you can be ushered into their dining area.

I loved sant ambroeus's uniformed pink shirts, and friendly service. Trust me, this will be my watering hole when I'm up visiting the Met.

mangia: Classic Isabella's

Reservations at Isabella's... that was my surprise for an evening in the city. T invited me out, and we both haven't been back to Isabella's for some time. We were taken to the romantic and private second level. For wine, we ordered a Spanish Red Temperillo to share.

T started with their soup specials of the day, a champagne and melon cold soup, I had their beet macadamium & goat cheese salad. Both were nice starters.

For Entrees, T's crab cakes were PERFECT! My wild salmon on a bed of risotto and tomato broth was average. I think I enjoy a creamier risotto, to complement the salmon. I was glad to try T's crab cakes, because that was truly the superior dish that night.

We were too full for dessert, so we enjoyed our tea and cappucino and enjoyed a relaxing evening.

The service was impeccable. That made our experience so enjoyable.

mangia: Moroccan departure

My incredible evening with my cool sassy Sister Goddesses ended at Zerza's. Here we all chose from a set menu due to our party and I ordered this amazing Couscous Berber. Which is a Lamb shank cooked in traditional spices served with couscous and vegetables.

It was tasty, and truly delicious! I also started with warm pita dipped in hummus. I definitely enjoyed my adventurous evening, and am happy to add to my growing list of cuisines and food I love!

Zerza's decor is definitely romantic, and I'd love to come back and spend hours here talking, and enjoying a romantic evening! The food is definitely incredible, and I will make another visit soon!

bevi & mangia: LES starting the party right!

Schiller's has been a place I've been anxious to try for a long time, so when we had a scheduled evening even with my fellow Sister Goddesses, I was psyched that we would be hitting it to start our evening! I need food before I can drink anything alcholic, so that lead me to this delicious salad: Watercress Salad with Beets, Pear, Walnuts & Blue Cheese... The funny part is, that a bunch of my Sister Goddesses ordered the same thing! So we had such a wonderful starter for our evening painting the town red! The combination was dynamic, and the vibe was really cool, not pretentious and it will be a place I would like to come back to... maybe with a new, fabulous, eye candy! I also ordered a fabulous Champagne mixed with Mango juice... and that has to be a perfect way to start a steamy NY summer's night...

mangia: sex oh wait soba and the city...

Shot for an episode of Sex in the City, this midtown traditional soba house offers some fresh home-made soba noodles. The people here at Soba Nippon really seem extremely proud of their efforts to offer amazing service as well as the most tasty cold soba noodles I've had. If you like your pasta al dente, the chewy texture of these noodles are so complimentary to the dipping sauce.

I prefer to add scallions and wasabi, C likes hers plain... both of us agree that it was an experience, especially on such a humid summer evening, and so refreshing as a dinner!

Appetizers such as the soft shell crab, the potato salad, and the agadashi tofu were so tasty! We were not disappointed!

Our meal ended with tapioca filled red beans, and we left vowing to return soon!
